Race boats roar through the Inland Waterway each summer, providing excitement and race-course thrills along the water’s edge for boaters and spectators alike.

The Saturday course is approximately 45 miles with a LeMans start at the pits in Burt Lake, at DeVoe Beach. The course runs into Burt Lake approximately 1/2 mile to a turn buoy, and then returns to the mouth of the Indian River. The race then runs through the entire length of the Indian River into Mullett Lake, to a check point in front of Breaker’s, then along the west shore of Mullett Lake and up the  full length of the Cheboygan River to a turnaround in the city of Cheboygan. Racers return over the same course to a finish line at the pit area.

Sunday’s course is approximately 42 miles, also with a LeMans start at the pits in Burt Lake off DeVoe Beach. It then runs across Burt Lake to a checkpoint on the west shore, up to the west shoreline of Burt Lake, through the Crooked River and around Crooked Lake, back through the Crooked River, across Burt Lake, through the Indian River to a turnaround in Mullett Lake. Racers then return through the Indian River to a finish line at the pit area.

The European's in Sweden are only for P750 class, not standard. Oregrund is a beautiful town and a wonderful place to have a holiday, the racing will take place on 4th - 6th August 2009.  Later in the week 8th August, Sweden sees their famous long distance race from Stockholm to Oregrund called the  'Roslagsloppet', for experience racers with navigational skills if you speak to Roland you could enter this historic race - dont enter if you cant navigate! with all the islands around the coast we might not see you for weeks!

Öregrund

Öregrund was granted a town charter in 1491 and became an important
competitor to Stockholm when shipping flourished. The town
has a stormy past and suffered accidental fires as well as intentional
ones by both the Russians and the Danes. At the end of the 1800s,
a bath house company was established and the town became a spa
resort. A hotel, baths and a clubhouse were built. Visitors swarmed to
Öregrund and ornate summer houses with glass-enclosed verandas
were built, many of which are still standing today!

Öregrund is a picturesque summer town with a thriving entertainment
scene. Many restaurants, cafés, exhibitions, and small antique and
craft shops surround the harbor. Don’t miss the guided walking
tours and the community sing-along on Mondays, near the lightship,
Västra Banken. In summer, there are many activities and big events
like Östhammars Musikvecka (music festival), Öregrundsmåndag
(entertainment put on by prominent locals), the Roslagsloppet (offshore
boat race) and a resort festival.

In Öregrund you can watch the sun go down over the water from
one of the rocky cliffs that surround the city or while enjoying dinner
at the Seglarbaren restaurant.

Enjoy romantic accomodation at the Ankargården guest-house or
Floras Trädgård Hotel, a charming turn-of-the-century inn. You can
also rent bicycles, canoes and small boats in Öregrund. Take a boat
tour with the M/F Jenny or the Sunnan Express.

ROSLAGSLOPPET 2009-Swedish PWC Endurance Race

The race will take place between Vaxholm (north Stockholm) and Öregrund.

The race is going to have 2 stages. One between Vaxholm and Väddö kanal, where you stop for about 2 hours to refuel etc. The second stage is between Väddö kanal and Öregrund.

The Event will be staged on the beach at Penny way, off Seaway Avenue, facilities will be available to camp onsite over looking the beach next to the Pit area for all competitors and officials. On the same weekend Christchurch are staging a Music Festival so we are set to have an excellent time in this most beautiful Dorset town; further info will be posted over the coming months.

Christchurch's predominantly sandy beaches extend for four miles across Christchurch Bay; from Highcliffe Beach in the east, to Highcliffe Castle, Steamer Point and Friar's Cliff beaches through to Avon Beach in the west. Mudeford Sandbank is a unique sandspit which adjoins Hengistbury and forms a natural barrier between the harbour and the open sea.

Few places in the country can boast two rivers, two castles, an 11th century Priory Church, a mill of Saxon origin, a Medieval bridge and the site of a civil war siege in 1645. The first Neolithic farmers came to Christchurch and the people of the Bronze Age left their burial mounds. The pagan Saxons also left their burial grounds just west of the High Street in what is now Waitrose's car park.

Once again we are going back to 'Windfest' in Poole - Fun for all the family, being able to enjoy a vast experience the taste of wind and powered events on and off the water; this welknown and high acclaimed extreme sports festival hosted by Poole Tourist board and organised by Gary Willingham is back on the ThunderCat calendar!

Piers Morgan quoted on Sandbanks, the location for the event: "Here's a question for you: where is the fourth most expensive place to live on the planet? Barbados perhaps? Or Beverly Hills? Nope, they don't even come close.

It's actually a tiny little sand dune on the Dorset coast called Sandbanks.

But this is no ordinary dune. On it, and around it, lie stunning golden sands, clear turquoise ocean water, luxury yachts, vintage champagne spilling out of every well-heeled resident's mouth, and houses that are currently going for an absurd £10million apiece.

I immersed myself on this strange, spectacular mile-square expanse of sand for this summer while making a three-part ITV1 series, which airs next week.

Nestled between Poole Harbour and Bournemouth, some say it is Britain's Monte Carlo, and certainly that old property chestnut "location, location, location" has never seemed more starkly pertinent.

Because there can't be many more wonderfully exclusive and exotic "locations" than this anywhere in Britain."
