Race boats roar through the Inland Waterway each summer, providing excitement and race-course thrills along the water’s edge for boaters and spectators alike.

The Saturday course is approximately 45 miles with a LeMans start at the pits in Burt Lake, at DeVoe Beach. The course runs into Burt Lake approximately 1/2 mile to a turn buoy, and then returns to the mouth of the Indian River. The race then runs through the entire length of the Indian River into Mullett Lake, to a check point in front of Breaker’s, then along the west shore of Mullett Lake and up the  full length of the Cheboygan River to a turnaround in the city of Cheboygan. Racers return over the same course to a finish line at the pit area.

Sunday’s course is approximately 42 miles, also with a LeMans start at the pits in Burt Lake off DeVoe Beach. It then runs across Burt Lake to a checkpoint on the west shore, up to the west shoreline of Burt Lake, through the Crooked River and around Crooked Lake, back through the Crooked River, across Burt Lake, through the Indian River to a turnaround in Mullett Lake. Racers then return through the Indian River to a finish line at the pit area.
